How do bone changes affect facial aging?

Did you know that the bone changes that occur in our body with age have a huge impact on the aging of the face? This came as a surprise to many.

It is rare to talk about how our bones change after 40 years. The skeleton or location of the skull seems to be something permanent-something that is formed before a certain age, and after a while, if there is no mechanical damage, it does not undergo any changes. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Our bone system contracts with age, which leads to numerous changes in the face.

Today I want to tell you more about it. From this entry, you will learn:

  • Why skin care isn't everything,
  • what do bone changes look like with age?,
  • how bone changes affect our face,
  • is it possible to avoid these changes or at least control them so that our face changes in harmony, in a natural process, in accordance with our genetics?

What happened to my face? Why does it look different with age?

Have you noticed that your face is beginning to drop gently? Do the first sags appear, especially in the cheeks or lower jaw? Bags under the eyes are becoming more noticeable, and the eyes themselves are collapsing and becoming smaller? These are just some of the changes that remind us that time does not stand still.

To better understand the aging process, it is good that you know its causes. Facial skin is just the tip of the iceberg. Below it are m.in. muscles and bones, i.e. the skull.

The muscles in the face are connected by one coupling to the skull, and the other to the skin. To do this, they are often interconnected. All this creates a peculiar scaffolding for leatherwhich undergoes various changes over the years.

Losing facial volume is a complex process. Muscle contractures appear, as well as migration of fat pads. It also loses bone mass in the skull with age, which has been proven by numerous studies.

How do bone changes develop with age?

Our bones start to transform around the end of the game 40 years old. What exactly happens to them? First of all, these bones start to literally disappear. The bone mass becomes smaller and smaller in volume and density. The skull changes, which starts to get smaller and smaller.

The jawbone is shrinking, which is the base of the lower face surface. These changes are directly reflected in our appearance. The angle of the lower jaw increases, and over the years the length and height of the entire jaw decreases.

The bones are getting thinner and therefore, the muscles lose their supportwhich, when rotated, leads to the appearance of flabby and furrows, as well as changes in the oval of the face and neck.

It is important to note that during the aging process, not only the remodeling of the bone structure itself occurs. The dice slide relative to each other. Some even rotate.

I told you more about this in this video:

Skin care is clearly not enough

That's why just taking care of your skin, applying all the creams, nourishing oils or serums on it is too little. I certainly don't mind leaving. Conversely. I consider it a very important part of taking care of myself.

The skin comes into contact with negative external factors every day-ultraviolet rays, wind, dry air, numerous bacteria and viruses. It serves as a protective barrier, and it should be strengthened by regular hydration, nutrition, and strengthening.

However, it is worth remembering that this is just one of the components of anti-aging activities. If you want to provide youth holistically and effectively, pay more attention to internal structures.

5 additional factors influencing facial changes

Bone changes are most noticeable in the skull. The eye sockets are getting bigger and bigger. Also, the cheek areas change, which begin to shorten and decrease.

In addition, the process of change is supported by bad habits and certain diseases that can cause tension in the facial muscles, and more precisely in the scar, winged and temporal muscles.

Belongs to them:

  • bruxism, or gnashing or habitual clenching of teeth,
  • stress,
  • poor spine position,
  • disadvantages of the bite,
  • lack of treatment or loss of teeth.

What changes your face's appearance?

All this can lead to many undesirable changes in the appearance of the face, which are often mistakenly perceived as a natural aging process. Both bone changes and the above additional factors and conditions can cause excessive or premature:

  • wrinkles on the cheeks,
  • creases and furrows,
  • bags under the eyes,
  • eyes that go down inside the eye sockets,
  • highlighting additional wrinkles resulting from loss of skin elasticity,
  • ripples of excess skin,
  • aesthetic changes that result from moving the bone relative to itself and other structures.

How to deal with bone changes? The answer is prevention!

Fortunately, we influence not only the condition of our skin, but also the whole process that takes place inside. Of course, it is best to act as a preventive measure before unwanted changes appear on our face.

Prevention that suppresses bone changes in the face:

  • osteopathic practice,
  • manual therapy,
  • rehabilitation services,
  • massage and facial exercises.

But that's not all. I always advise the participants of my consultations and trainings to take holistic care of their young appearance. It's important to keep your balance.

Maybe it's not a recipe to stop the hands of the clock. Unfortunately, there is no ready-made recipe for an ever-youthful look. But with care and a broad view of your body, you can slow down the elapsed time, make sure that the face retains a youthful appearance longer and does not succumb to factors that work against it.

How to slow down the aging process?

meal

Make sure that the food nourishes you, not clogs you. It is best to eat something that is alive, i.e. plants, pods and grains. This is the golden rule of eating in ayurvedawhich has a great effect on your health

Additional information

Use a well-chosen one addition, preferably based on medical examinations. Our bones are well affected by foods that contain calcium, vitamin D3, and vitamin K.

movement

Another important element is movement, preferably outdoors. This is the foundation of health and well-being. In addition to daily walks, it is worth remembering about additional exercises for the body: cardio training, pilates or, of course, yoga, which improves the condition of the whole body, all tissues and bones.

Massage

The next extremely important activity that will take care of your youthful appearance and the subsequent aging process regular massage. Massage of the body and face improves blood supply, allows you to massage and relax the muscles, fascia and ligaments. They also affect fat pads. They stimulate the production of new blood, small and capillary fibers, which eventually disappear.

It is important to note that massage makes not only the skin better supplied with blood, but also the bones, which directly affects their nutrition and improvement over many years.

Caring for a young appearance should also include oral care. And it's not just a beautiful smile. Sometimes what is invisible to the naked eye is equally harmful to our health and appearance. So, for example, in the case of bruxismthat is, excessive clenching of the teeth or cavities in the back of the dentition.

EFFECTS OF STRESS

Stress affects many areas of our lives. It is important to regularly release your body from tension. They will help you do this m.in healthy habits, mindfulness, physical activity, and reducing stress-causing factors in our daily lives.

Remember that affects the shape of the face and head.. How the aging process will affect your appearance and well-being largely depends on you and your habits. It is useful to apply preventive measures and look at your body holistically, doing regular massages, taking care of your activity, as well as oral health and positive eating habits.
