Face Yoga for young people

More and more young people are asking me, when can I start doing facial yoga? and does facial yoga make sense at a young age? Inspired by your questions and observing my children, their friends, and others between the ages of 18 and 30, I decided to put together some useful tips in one place, as well as answer questions related to face yoga in this age range.

In addition, we have prepared a special a set of yoga exercises for young peopleIt is worth implementing in your daily life, even if the skin is still very elastic. 

The sooner you start, the better 

I am very happy that facial yoga is in the area of interest of young people. I believe that the sooner you develop certain habits and start using simple exercises, the better for your skin.

Yoga for the face helps prevent premature wrinkles and sagging tissues. Also, it makes our the body serves us betterwe understand and know them, and we can listen to their needs, despite the difficulties that the modern way of life brings with it. 

Problems maintaining the correct body position, including the neck, this can lead to degenerative changes and changes in the appearance of the face. And this applies not only to the elderly. An example is the so-called smartphone neck, also called syndromem tech neck. This is a disease that occurs due to using the smartphone in the wrong position, that is, with the head tilted forward.

At what age can I start doing facial yoga?

Face yoga successfully young people can do it, which are within 20 years. Of course, if you have any diseases or degenerations, it is best to consult a doctor. However, as a rule, if you enjoy good health and want to take preventive care of your appearance-there are no obstacles to this. 

Why do facial yoga at a young age?

  • To form the correct position and awareness of the body and head while using the smartphone. 
  • Preventatively maintain the condition and elasticity of the skin.
  • To suppress the formation of facial wrinkles, including transverse wrinkles on the neck, which appear as a result of using the phone. 
  • To provide good oxygen and nourish the skin on the face and neck. 

How to prepare for face yoga exercises?

Sit comfortably in a simple position, i.e.:

  • put your feet on the floor, 
  • place your knees hip-width apart, 
  • gently pull the navel back, 
  • lower your shoulders,
  • keep your shoulder blades close together.

The set of exercises that I suggested does not require the use of any additional cosmetics. You can make them "dry" or use your favorite cream., anti-aging oil, or aloe. 

A set of yoga exercises for the face for young people

Face yoga for the neck area

The first exercise improves mobility and makes the neck area more flexible, which is prone to frequent bending and falling forward when using a smartphone.

TILT YOUR HEAD BACK AND FORTH

  • Start with simple, gentle head movements back and forth. 
  • In the process, keep an eye on how your body reacts and whether you have any pain.
  • The movement should be smooth.
  • During your workout, you can close your eyes.
  • The slope is repeated 10 times forward and 10 times back. 

TILTING YOUR HEAD TO THE SIDES

  • Another exercise is very similar, it involves moving the head from side to side. 
  • Point one ear once, the other ear toward your shoulders. 
  • During the exercise, you should take care of mindfulness and attention to the needs of your body, which, by the way, allows you to train your mind. 

HEAD IN THE BASKET OF HANDS

  • Braid your hands in a basket and put them behind your head, or rather behind the back of your head, that is, the lower part of the skull. 
  • Gently tilt your head forward and bring your elbows together. 
  • Then pull your chin up to your chest. 
  • Stay in this position for 10 seconds. You can count out loud. 

NECK TWISTS

  • Once out of position, remove your hands from the back of your head and turn your head toward your armpit, gently stretching your neck.
  • Stay in this position for 10 seconds. 
  • Then perform a similar rotation on the other side, that is, turn your head to the other armpit until you feel the neck muscle stretch. 
  • Stay in this position for 10 seconds. 

TILT YOUR HEAD BACK

  • Tilt your head back and gently push your chin forward.
  • Stay in this position for 5 seconds. 
  • Then tilt your head back again, this time at an angle, tilting it to the side so that your ear is facing the ceiling.
  • Stay in this position for 5 seconds. 
  • Repeat bending backwards in the opposite direction.

If you feel a lot of tension while doing these exercises, repeat the entire series 2 times. This should relax your muscles. 

Face yoga for the eye area

EXERCISE FOR OPEN EYES

This exercise helps to open your eyes wide, making them bigger and more rested, and also forms the habit of keeping your forehead uncluttered.

  • Bring your open palm to your forehead, gently hugging them (without pressing or pulling your forehead down).
  • Open your eyes wide and count to five.
  • Exit the position.
  • If during the exercise you feel that your forehead is wrinkling under the palm of your hand, stop it and start again. 

EXERCISE BIG O

  • Open your mouth and wrap your lips around your teeth in an O shape. 
  • Bring your palms to your cheeks, gently lifting them up.
  • Stay in this position for 5 seconds. 
  • Repeat the exercise 3 times. 

EXERCISE BIG O WITH SQUINTING

  • Open your mouth and wrap your lips around your teeth in an O shape. 
  • Bring your palms to your cheeks, gently lifting them up.
  • Secure your fingertips around your eyes so that the crow's feet don't lock in when squinting. 
  • Then make 5 squinted eyes. 
  • Stay in this position for 5 seconds. 
  • Repeat the exercise 3 times. 

Face yoga for the chin

The last group of facial yoga exercises for young people concerns the chin area. It has a preventive effect. Prevents the appearance of a second chin and sagging in this area. 

During these exercises, you should pay attention to the area of the temporomandibular joints. If you feel pain in this place-stop the activity, change the position so that yoga is comfortable for you. 

CHIN MODELING EXERCISE

  • Relax your face and cheeks.
  • Place your hands on your face, gently lifting them.
  • Tilt your head back.
  • Pull your tongue up in the hook position, pointing the tip toward your nose.
  • Stay in this position for 5 seconds. 
  • Repeat the exercise 3 times.
  • Pay attention to whether you are straining your forehead.



You can perform the above set of facial yoga exercises once a day. This will help you maintain the elasticity of the tissues, their nutrition, oxygenation and tone. 

Besides that it is worth monitoring the position of the head while using a smartphone or computer. Don't tilt your head down. Hold the phone at head level. Thanks to this, you will avoid tech neck syndrome and take care of the youthful appearance of the face and neck, despite the past years.
