Do you know the saying „Less is more”? I try to adhere to it in almost all areas of life, including natural skincare and nutrition. Women's skin has a very difficult task on a daily basis.
It has to deal with pollutants from the air and often heavy make-up. To help it recover and cleanse on a daily basis, I have a rule: I don't put anything on it at night.
But let me start at the beginning. ☺
A couple of years ago, I came across a text about nocturnal regeneration of the body. I am a biologist by training, so the arguments given for cleansing at a cellular level particularly appealed to me. It seems perfectly natural: at night, the skin benefits from rest in order to regenerate itself properly. As it sleeps, it does not need to protect itself from harmful environmental influences, but can open up, cleanse and renew itself so that it wakes up the next day healthy and full of energy.
A common evening care mistake
Most people use creams with a rich, oily texture at night. These make it difficult to remove unnecessary metabolic products, so the skin cannot breathe and does not rest.
Regeneration is extremely important in natural rejuvenation processes. Notice how your skin reacts when you fall asleep in full make-up - redness and imperfections quickly appear. So I took these arguments to heart. Nowadays, apart from thoroughly cleansing my face before bed and spraying a toner and using a light serum (of my own making, of course - like most of my natural cosmetics), I don't put anything else on my skin. This allows it to breathe, cleanse and regenerate at the highest level, for which it repays me quite well, probably for my almost 43 years of age. ☺
Take comprehensive care of your skin
However, natural cosmetics and thorough facial cleansing alone may not be enough. In order to enjoy a healthy, radiant and energetic complexion, it is necessary to take care of it from within as well. Diet has a significant impact on skin and natural rejuvenation. What we eat is reflected in how we look and how we feel. And I don't just mean in terms of weight, but also skin colour or firmness.
I have been taking care of myself comprehensively for years and the results delight me. This is why I warmly encourage you to combine the various elements that make up natural rejuvenation: facial yoga, natural cosmetics and proper nutrition. I promise fantastic results! ☺
