Beauty – you carry it within you!

Human beauty manifests on many levels. We feel beautiful internally and externally if we experience balance on three levels – body, mind, and soul. Much is said about taking care of the body. But what about inner beauty? It’s within you, I guarantee.

A beautiful mind is, first and foremost, a calm and balanced mind. If you are constantly worried, concerned, full of fears and negative thoughts, you will not be beautiful! Anger, jealousy, hatred do not add to your well-being or happiness. True folk wisdom proves itself: „anger harms beauty”. When you are happy, joyful, friendly, at peace with yourself and the world, not only do you feel great, but you also look wonderful. This is what the emanation of true, inner beauty consists of.

Feel it!

How to make positive emotions prevail? First and foremost, you must deal with your negative emotions. Don't push them deep down, don't pretend nothing happened, that nothing hurt you and caused you anxiety. Name and allow yourself to experience emotions. Pause for a moment to feel the emotions in your body. Does your stomach hurt? Does your throat feel tight? Feel it and focus on the sensation and the emotion – open yourself up to the signals that your body, mind, and soul are sending!

Practice makes perfect!

It's worth consciously practising experiencing emotions. Yes, practising! From childhood, we are taught to suppress or falsify emotions. From the earliest years of life, we are told: „don't be angry”, „you hit yourself, but it doesn't hurt”, „nothing happened”, „don't exaggerate”, „don't be hysterical”, „don't cry”, „don't whine”... This is how we learn to push emotions to the background, but they are still within us, they don't disappear. Over time, we are overtaken by despondency, sadness, depression, unbridled aggression, and all because blocked feelings are boiling within us. They need to be experienced in order to cope with them! So-called diaphragmatic breathing, which facilitates the release of emotions, will also support this method. Coping with mental stress is also of great importance for health. When the body is subjected to stress, it releases stress hormones, thereby disrupting its functioning on many levels.

Look after your mind

The mind has a tendency to follow what the senses desire. Catering to these desires usually doesn't do us any good. It's also hugely important what you think, what environment and company you're in, and of course, how you behave. There are many ways to soothe the senses. The first of these is contact with nature. Scientific research confirms that the colour green calms and soothes the mind. Listening to calm, gentle music also has a similar effect – mantras, chillout, classical music – you're sure to find a repertoire that suits you. You can also take care of your mind by reducing certain stimuli, such as watching heavy, aggressive films, or even being in company where people talk about others rather than having conversations...

Much gratitude

Practising gratitude is a great way to notice how much good happens to you every day, to learn to see the good things in life. Practise this basic principle; before you go to sleep tonight, name at least three good things that happened to you. They can even be small things, like nice weather, a delicious dinner, or a few kind words exchanged with someone you met by chance. Look on the brighter side of life!

Good, therefore beauty

Honesty, generosity, kindness, a desire to help, compassion, and empathy – these are qualities that stem from love, which is the supreme and most important feeling or state for inner beauty and balance. Kindness not only gives meaning to life, but also elevates you energetically. You don't have to immediately change your professional career to volunteering and completely abandon your old life. You can be the best mother in the world to your child, a partner in a relationship, a dedicated employee, someone who helps a sick person cross the street, or feeds a hungry dog – kindness manifests itself on a daily basis.

The great power of letting go

Are you constantly expecting something? Waiting for something? Planning? It's a vicious cycle – you expect something, and when it doesn't happen, your life becomes dominated by disappointment. What if we stopped expecting? Accept life as it is? Keep a distance from what happens to you and trust that everything happens according to a higher plan, which you cannot control? This approach will take a lot of the pressure off you. Try to let go – it really works!
