Rinsing the mouth with oil, also known as "drawing out the oil" or" smearing the mouth", is a practice commonly used in Ayurveda, an ancient system of Indian medicine. It consists of take a small amount of vegetable oil in your mouthmost commonly sesame or coconut oil, and rotate it in your mouth for a certain period of time, usually 2 to 1o minutes. After that, spit out the oil and rinse your mouth with water.

This practice is called Kavala-Gandusha therapy in Ayurvedic books. Its purpose is to clean your mouth. Removal of toxins, bacteria and other harmful substances.

An additional goal is to strengthen the gums, relieve inflammation, reduce plaque, whiten teeth, prevent tooth decay, freshen the breath, and generally improve oral health.

* After spitting out the oil rinse your mouth with warm waterto remove any remaining oil.
* Finally, brush your teeth as usual with toothpaste and a brush.

It is recommended to use a mouthwash with JIVA oil once or twice a day, always before brushing your teeth. It is also important to observe the recommended amount of oil and mouthwash time.

During practice, you may start to sweat a little, which is a sign of the release of toxins from the body. You may also experience watery eyes and some nasal discharge, which also indicates the effectiveness of the ritual.
