Thyme has been used since ancient times to support the immune and respiratory systems and the healthy appearance of the skin. It has also been used as a cleansing and preserving agent.

The main chemical component of thyme oil is thymol. Thymol supports healthy immune function and provides antioxidant support. Another ingredient in thyme is carvacrol. Carvacrol also has antioxidant properties and supports the health of the cardiovascular, immune, respiratory, musculoskeletal, digestive and nervous systems. Both thymol and carvacrol also have a cleansing effect.

Because of its high thymol content, thyme should always be diluted with carrier oil before topical application.

How to use:

• Aromatic application: Add three to four drops to the diffuser of your choice.

• Local application: Dilute one drop of essential oil with 10 drops of carrier oil to minimize skin sensitivity. See additional precautions below.

• Internal use: Dilute one drop in four fl oz of water.
