Turkey neck – what is it?
Before we move on to rejuvenating practices that can improve the appearance of the neck, it's worth understanding what exactly it is turkey neck and where does it come from.
Turkey neck Turkey neck, which starts to resemble a loose flap of skin on a turkey. It is one of the more visible signs of ageing and can affect both men and women. This problem arises when the skin on the neck loses its elasticity and firmness and begins to sag, creating loose folds and wrinkles.

The turkey neck comes from the turkey.
The passage of time
As the years go by, our skin loses collagen and elastin – proteins responsible for its firmness and elasticity. Additionally, the production of new skin cells slows down, which makes the skin thinner and more susceptible to gravity.
Genetics
In some individuals, genetic predispositions can accelerate the skin's aging process. If your parents experienced issues with sagging skin on their necks, there's a higher chance you'll notice similar changes yourself.
Lifestyle
Factors such as excessive sun exposure, smoking, a poor diet, and inadequate skincare can also contribute to a turkey neck.
Poor posture
Do you spend long hours with your head bent over your phone or computer? This is a big mistake that can lead to weakening of the neck muscles and the formation of so-called "tech neck," which directly affects the appearance of this part of your body.

What are Venus necklaces?
Venus rings is a term for Horizontal wrinkles and lines, which appear on the skin of the neck. They can look like delicate or more pronounced folds, arranged in rows resembling necklaces, hence their name. Although they can appear on the necks of people of all ages, they become more visible and permanent over time. In some people, they can appear even in prenatal life and be visible from the earliest years, becoming increasingly noticeable with age.
Usually they occur as a result of muscle contractions, which are caused by poor posture habits. They can also have a genetic origin, which unfortunately we have little control over.

Causes of Venus necklace formation are therefore very similar to the causes of a turkey's neck. They can be a result of:
- natural ageing,
- genetics,
- repetitive neck movements, such as tilting the head downwards over a phone,
- overexposure to the sun,
- lack of regular moisturising and skin nourishment.
How to deal with turkey neck and Venus's necklaces?
Discover 6 steps to help you maintain A youthful-looking neck for longer. If you follow these tips, I'm convinced that the skin on your neck will become smoother and firmer over time. However, it's important to stick to these principles holistically, not selectively. Only then will you achieve the desired effect if you work on the condition of your neck skin in multiple areas simultaneously.
Rule number 1: changing habits
Try not to tilt your head incorrectly. If you can tilt your body through a pelvic tilt, will be a much better solution – for your body, shoulders, spine, and neck alike.
The truth is that We most often bend our heads over our phones. Sometimes we do this for several hours a day, so it's worth monitoring your movements then.
A similar situation occurs, for example, when reading a book or looking at a laptop screen. The best solution is to hold them at eye level. For instance, if you like to read lying down, place a pillow under the book. It's always worth placing your laptop on a special stand.
Rule number 2: neck muscle stretches
The muscles associated with the neck and chest area should not be contracted. Otherwise, they will cause the neck and chin to be pulled, skin to ripple, and most importantly, lead to the loss of the so-called "youth angle" that exists between the neck and chin.
Simple neck muscle stretching exercise
Step 1: Simply stand up straight and gently Tilt your head back. You can close your eyes and push your chin forward. Remain in this position, counting to 10.
Warning! If you have problems with your cervical spine, consult your orthopaedist about performing this exercise.
Step 2: Tilt your head to the side, tilting your cheek and jaw gently upwards. You should feel a stretch in your neck at this point. And similarly – hold the position for a few seconds, then repeat on the other side.
Step 3: If you wish to strengthen either position, place your hand just below the neck, gently holding the muscles.
Step 4: Tilt your head down towards your shoulder and count to 10. Repeat on the other side.
Rule number 3: strengthen your neck muscles
Besides stretching the neck muscles, it is equally important to strengthen them, in order to keep them appropriately toned.
A simple exercise to strengthen the neck area and smooth so-called Venus necklaces.
Step 1: Sit comfortably, place your feet flat on the floor without crossing them. Gently draw in your navel, maintain an upright posture and a slightly retracted head.
Step 2: Place your hands on either side of your neck. Don't press down on it, just gently cup it, then try to rhythmically tense your neck muscles.
Step 3: If this task is initially difficult for you, you can try making a „hushed HA” sound. Repeat the exercise for 3 sets.
Rule number 4: take care of your neck skin
Another incredibly important step is proper care – both from the outside and from the inside. First and foremost, remember appropriate hydration, to moisturise the skin.
Therefore, it is worth using solutions such as Hyaluronic acid drinks and collagen drinks, which supplement vitamins, but also hyaluronic acid or collagen, firming the skin from within.
Furthermore, it is worth apply natural masks to the skin e.g. from honey, yoghurt and protein. You can lightly thicken the mixture with flour so it doesn't run off. It's a good idea to exfoliate first.
Additionally, on the skin regularly apply oils, which smooth, firm, moisturise and nourish, as well as cosmetics containing peptides and vitamin C.
Principle number 5: perform regular neck skin massages
What massage should be performed to avoid the problem of a turkey neck and maintain a youthful appearance in this area for a long time? It is enough that you Massage your neck regularly with your hands. Here are some simple movements that you can do during your daily skincare routine.
Step 1: Place your hands on either side of your neck, with your fingers pointing backwards, then gently move your hands towards the nape of your neck, pulling the skin towards your spine, meaning moving it outwards.
Step 2: Clasp your fingers together and make gentle, sweeping movements with your fingertips from your ear downwards, drawing the lymph.
Step 3: Apply so-called 'pinches', i.e. gently pinching the skin on your neck - centimetre by centimetre. If you have a thyroid condition, try to avoid the area around it, and it's best to consult with your endocrinologist about the possibility of massaging the skin on your neck.
Step 4: Use the appropriate neck massage accessories. I recommend it. Multi-functional massager with chromotherapy or Multi-needle roller, which strongly firms, stimulates its regeneration, tightens, smooths and thickens, restoring a youthful appearance to the skin.
Principle Number 6: Use taping that supports the skin on your neck
When you have properly stretched, strengthened, and massaged your neck, it is worth further deepening and consolidating the effects of these actions by applying kinesiology tape.
How to apply tape to the neck? You'll find a detailed instruction manual in my course. Aesthetic kinesiotaping with beauty yoga-online course.
One of my favourite methods is the use of the so-called "octopus". All you need to do is measure a strip of kinesiology tape from the collarbone to the ear. Then cut the tape into 5 pieces, creating an octopus shape (meaning the narrow strips are not cut all the way through).
Apply the prepared tape to clean skin. Place the top part of the tape (the octopus head) in the collarbone area. Tilt your head to the side and apply the individual strips along your neck, being careful not to stretch them.
Repeat the action on the other side. Properly applied tape should wrinkle when your head is straightened. Wear them for a minimum of 3 hours or leave them on overnight.
Detailed Neck taping instructions you will find in this film (at the end of the recording).
